OWA is the Standard for Acoustical Ceiling Systems
Since our foundation, Odenwald Faserplattenwerk GmbH has been providing contractors, designers, and architects with ceiling systems that achieve unmatched acoustical control and innovative design for 75 years. Dur success can be attributed to three things: the people that contribute to the production and sales, sustainability of the product and growth across the globe. With a network of distribution partners and dedicated employees, OWA has been a resource for organizations and their projects worldwide. Over the decades, the OWA brand has established itself as an innovative, high-quality ceiling system resource in the healthcare, education, commercial office, retail, hotel and manufacturing industries. By showcasing the highest standards of acoustics, aesthetics, fire protection, design, and durability, OWA has proven over the past 75 years that our focus on quality will not be compromised.
Entrepreneurial Determination
Since the beginning, our commitment to our customers and their needs are the foundation for OWA’s success. The company’s founder, Friedrich-Karl Rogge, recognized this early on, stating, “Friendly contact with our customers and our flexibility to tailor our products to the needs of the market are the pillars of our success.” Dur current services include ceiling systems made of mineral fiber and metal, substructures and lighting, room climate solutions as well as planning and consulting services.
In the 1960s, Rogge discovered the unique acoustic and fire protection properties of mineral fiber in the USA. At that point, OWA shifted manufacturing and began incorporating mineral wool into the production process, in compliance with the highest quality standards. OWA continues tobe a “proud German” manufacturer and has continued to modernize and expand our plants and systems over the years. The filter system at the main plant in Amorbach, for example, is one of the most modern of its kind in the industry and throughout Europe.
Sustainable innovations
Resource conservation has been a priority for OWA. In 2015 the OWA green circle recycling system was put into place, enabling the return of all OWA mineral blankets from the OWAlifetime collection produced after October 1, 1997 to be repurposed into new ceiling tiles. This system not only applies to new orders, but also existing OWA mineral ceilings which can be added to the OWA green circle recycling system. OWA was honored to receive a number of high-ranking design and sustainability awards such as the European Green Award, Green Product Award, lconic Award and Green Good Design, recognizing both the attractiveness and sustainability of the OWA product portfolio.
Most recently, OWA has launched the OWActive mineral climate ceiling line and the OWActive 75th edition in Europe. Two aesthetically and technically sophisticated contributors to the energy transition movement from their development centers in Amorbach and Michelstadt with the goal of making them available in the USA in the near future.
