In order to meet the demand for high-quality ceiling systems also in the premium segment of the Chinese market, Odenwald Faserplattenwerk GmbH establishes another sales company in Shanghai.
The purchasing power of Chinese consumers is rising rapidly. Above all, the middle class is growing fast and is ensuring sustained strong growth. This development is supported by the rising per capita income. This means that markets are being penetrated faster and consumer behaviour is shifting from consumer goods to consumer durables and from mass to premium products.
This trend is also being reflected in the construction industry. Investors and building owners are increasingly willing to provide educational buildings, administrative buildings, hotels, shopping centers, production facilities or healthcare buildings with high-quality premium ceiling systems and associated services.
The resulting demand has not been fully covered by the suppliers established on the Chinese market so far. The OWA sales team has started its work in the new office of the German Center in Shanghai and can support the target customers locally with an attractive service package. In addition, the availability of goods is guaranteed by a comprehensive logistics concept, OWA further announces.
“As part of the company’s international growth strategy, it is a logical consequence for OWA and the market to have an organization in China that operates closely to its customers,” explains Maximilian von Funck, managing partner of Odenwald Faserplattenwerk GmbH and grandson of company founder Friedrich-Karl Rogge.
“This means that OWA is also prepared to fulfil customer needs in a new and excellent way in my Chinese home market,” adds Dr. Samuel Wu, who leads the initial team of seven and reports directly to the management at the German headquarters.
Characteristic for hidden champions of the German middle class is the customer proximity and a very high assortment competence. This is also the reason for more than 70 years of entrepreneurial success of Odenwald Faserplattenwerk GmbH, which, with the OWA brand, is the epitome of suspended ceiling systems on the domestic market.
The main functions of OWA ceiling systems are design, acoustics and sound absorption, fire protection, hygiene and moisture resistance. The comprehensive range of products and services is based on technically and creatively sophisticated elements consisting of mineral and metal ceilings including grids and associated lighting elements.
Market research studies and the latest wave of success of internationally renowned design awards for the OWAconsult collection underline this exposed positioning.
