Many inner areas in industrial production require components or substances that are resistant to chemicals, cleaning, process and disinfecting materials. This applies in particular to laboratories and clean rooms as well as hygienically demanding production plants in the pharmaceutical or food industries.
Additional information:
The Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA carried out the investigations. The institute examined the chemical resistance of OWAtecta metal tiles against ten representative reagents by exposing the material samples at a defined load to the test chemicals. The determination was carried out based on the immersion procedure in line with ISO 2812-1. This method of testing was deliberately selected as being more critical than the contaminations, cleaning and disinfection methods indicate in practice, to ensure a reliable statement on the integrity of the material– regardless of the quantity and duration of the exposure time.
Result: proof of the resistance of OWAtecta metal tiles against the following representative test reagents (Report No. OW 1003-518, date August 2010):
OWAtecta metal tiles are resistant to the following reagent for up to 3 hours, with a load of 6 hours and above, the ceiling tile is conditionally resistant: caustic soda (5%)
