Why does a manufacturer of building materials still attend a traditional trade fair in the age of digitalisation? To present new products and gain direct feedback during talks with the customer. Simple visualisation is insufficient especially when designing attractive rooms with high-quality ceiling systems. Decision-makers, planners and installers want to experience the products, to touch them – or as OWA says: “Discover the new dimension of bespoke interior design.” And this is exactly what OWA has done at its location in beautiful Amorbach.
Besides the brand new website with product finder, acoustics calculator and other practical tools, which went live on the first day of the trade fair, OWA exhibited pioneering new ceiling systems.
The award followed promptly on the first day of BAU in Munich. BAKA Bundesverband Altbauerneuerung e. V. [Germany’s federal association for the modernisation of old buildings] and Messe München GmbH recognised the Corpus ceiling canopy with the BAKA Award 2019, stating: “Exquisite three-dimensional acoustic elements with lighting in the form of a modular set of building blocks.” This means that the creative modular ceiling kit from the OWAconsult collection has now won nine renowned awards to date.
The innovation initiative focused on enhanced ease of installation, the very latest in visual interior design enabled by seamless functional ceiling systems, and room acoustics that can be perfectly tailored to individual requirements. In keeping with the ‘mix & match’ principle, OWA presented three new product lines in one go. But one thing before the other:
The fleece-covered mineral ceilings in the OWAlifetime collection were expanded by four new Sinfonia products: Silencia, Balance, Privacy and Reflecta. The product line allows precise acoustics design with the same surface thanks to a choice of six variants offering different levels of acoustic effectiveness. Depending on the requirements and local conditions, the acoustics can therefore be subtly adapted without any perceptible differences in appearance. Just about any acoustic requirement can be fulfilled, ranging from outstanding sound reflection across an intelligent combination of high absorption and sound reduction through to 100% absorption. This produces freedom to create.
OWA is offering three new mineral ceiling surfaces – all with natural material finishes – with the name RAW in its OWAconsult collection for the trendy purist industrial design: grey, structure and clay. The product line combines the raw and original features of OWA mineral ceilings with acoustic performance for high-end projects. RAW adds unique design highlights, reflects the trend towards natural materials and blends seamlessly with the theme world of modern industrial design.
For vast seamless plastered ceilings, OWA has completely upgraded its monolithic OWAplan ceiling system, which also belongs to the OWAconsult collection. Fleece lamination at the factory makes the work onsite even more convenient. The two new variants, OWAplan 70 and OWAplan 90, can be finished with the OWAplan S (smooth) and XS (extra smooth) plastering systems. Tiles and plaster can be mixed and matched individually. When combined with the OWAplan XS acoustic plaster coating, the airless process now available for the plastering systems makes it possible to achieve an especially fine surface finish. OWAplan integrates harmoniously with any architectural style, guaranteeing pleasant acoustics and enhanced well-being at the same time.
